I don’t know if you enjoy country music but there a few groups that I love even though honestly, I’m an EDM fan. BUT Lady Antebellum has a new album with a catchy song titled “Heart Break.”
The song is basically about a woman who needs a damn break from all things heart centered (love, people, expectations, etc.) and I LOVE this message!
How’s your heart?
Are you feeling weary, overwhelmed, tired, and just can’t take one more thing? I know how you feel because some days, that’s me too. I’ve taken some hits over the years and it seems they come in waves so it’s not uncommon for me to have really shitty days/weeks that I know I gotta just deal with because it gets better. BUT sometimes in my life, I just need a for real BREAK.
Break from being a mom, break from being a boss, break from being a wife, friend, you name it, I just want to drop all my titles and get back to me!
So, what’s that look like for you when you need a break from it all?
Does it look like an afternoon at the beach with just a blanket and your dog? Does it look like a few days off from work, so you can just work on that backyard project you’ve been procrastinating on? Does it mean maybe an hour to yourself away from the kiddos or partner say at a local coffee shop or Panera’s? Or could it just be a long hot bath after everyone is in bed. It could even just mean a walk outside enjoying the spring like weather for a few moments.
I know for me it’s a book or magazine in my hammock with a glass of white wine or some sweet tea, with Bailee lying next to me. Now that the weather’s nicer, that’s where you’ll usually find me when I need a break from it all. I try to incorporate regular breaks from my life, almost daily if you will. If I’m having a particularly stressful week, it makes that more difficult, but I know if I don’t do something good for myself, things will get ugly. So even if I just make a cup of my favorite coconut tea, that’ll do it for me in a pinch!
So, what’s your heart break gonna look like?
Leave me a comment below so we can all get some new ideas … happy heartbreak!
