Anna Georges, MSW, LMSW
Seeing adult women & LGBTQ+ members ages 18 and up, in-person & virtually to residents of Maryland
Therapist
Anna grew up in the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY. As a wanderlust and Navy spouse, she has lived all over the world. She moved to Montgomery County, MD in 2019 with her husband and daughters.
Anna earned her Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Dance and Arts Management from Emerson College in Boston, MA. Her years working as a teaching and performing artist with children and adults all over the world, especially as the Arts Coordinator at a camp for children of the victims of 9/11, led to her desire to support healing through creativity and embodiment.
Anna received her MSW from Yeshiva University in New York City. She is the third generation of mental health clinicians in her family. Her grandparents started a preschool for autistic children in LA in the 1950’s!
Anna has worked with girls, women of all ages and LGBQT+ community members in clinical and private practice settings. She has experience counseling girls, adolescents and women dealing with anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD, chronic conditions and other trauma. As a Navy spouse, she is familiar with the specific challenges of military life.
Because Anna believes that well-being is seated in the mind, body and soul, she takes an eclectic approach to therapy that incorporates person-centered approach and embodiment practices. She provides creative therapy for curious souls. Anna is bilingual in English and Spanish.
When not doing therapy, Anna is a professional flamenco dancer and teaching artist. She also is an avid knitter, reader and maker. Every other hour of her day is spent supporting her two daughters as they pursue their passions i.e. she spends lots of time at the sidelines of soccer fields, in dance studios and in horse barns.
Her family’s favorite thing to do together is travel. Anna believes that the pets make houses into homes and has an all white cat, a rescue Black Lab who is 12 and a little Russell terrier who she is training to be a Gluten-Detection Service dog to support her Celiac Disease.
You can reach Anna by emailing her at anna@empoweredconnections.net, call her directly at 301-690-0779 ext. 723, or self-schedule an appointment by clicking here.
